My name is Kassidy Carey and I am a fourteen year old aspiring writer. I write a lot of metaphors because I try to make people feel something when they read my writing. I have had a passion for writing ever since I could write. I've always wanted things to be more creative. I paint, draw, write, sing, and act. I love art, and writing happens to be my favourite form. Ever since I read the book Sixteen by a good friend, Heidi Wong, I've decided to switch gears into writing poetry. I love poetry because I feel it's the form of writing that reaches furthest into your soul. I write because it's the easiest way to say how I feel without being entirely direct. I was born in Portsmouth, VA, but I grew up in Greenville, NC. I'm back in Portsmouth now. My father died when I was 10 years old and I feel that he would've wanted me to continue my love for art. He played guitar, sang, drew, and wrote poetry. I want to make him proud.
